Although this book might be long read for some people, it is packed with useful information.
In the first part of the book, Dr. Michael Greger goes deep into detail on various diseases (heart diseases, cancer, etc.) and how these can be prevented or even be treated with a plant-based diet.
Dr. Greger also explains what various foods can do to your body and provides a checklist of 12 foods that should be consumed on a day to day basis.
This book gives some good guidelines on how to follow a healthy diet and can really change your view on food, and think of food more as medicine.

3) Smart Meal Prep for Beginners by Tony Amidor
Preparing healthy meals in advance is by far one of the most important things you can do if you want to stick to a diet long-term.
After a long day of work, it can be really to have the willpower to cook up some healthy food, and reaching for the bag of chips or order a pizza, can be really tempting. Especially when you don’t have anything cooked in advance.
This book provides tips, instructions, and guidelines on how to meal prep, how to store food and how to reheat it and even gives you 6 weekly meal prep plans.
“Failing to prepare, is preparing for failure”
This is an excellent book if you want to be proactive with your diet and avoid having to reach for unhealthy food choices.
4) Fit Men Cook by Kevin Curry
When you first start going on a diet, you will oftentimes find that the food tastes pretty bland and not as tasty.
This is one of the main reasons why most people can’t stick to a diet. The food is boring and it doesn’t have any flavor.
The secret to sticking to a diet is to eat tasty food, while still keeping everything “diet friendly”.
This book by Kevin Curry provides 100 delicious recipes, that are quick and easy to make and are both healthy and nutritious.

5) Mini Habits for Weight Loss by Stephen Guise
Far too many people restrict themselves when they go on a diet. This is why people fail so often and fall back on their unhealthy eating habits.
The term “crash diet” is definitely real. People restrict all sorts of foods and food groups and narrow their food choices down to a minimum.
In order to successfully lose weight and keep it off for good, you need to change your view on dieting and food in general.
This book is a true gem when it comes to that aspect. “Mini Habits for Weight Loss” illustrates this point very clear. Dieting is all about small habits, which over time result in long-term weight loss and the accumulation of new healthy eating habits, will keep that weight off forever.
In my opinion, this book is a must-read, and it will change your view on losing weight, and it will equip you with techniques and strategies to stick to a diet.
6) Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman
We often get sugar cravings late night that keep us awake, or we might be in the mood to eat some burgers and fries. Very rarely do we get the desire and the cravings for a healthy salad or a piece of fresh fruit.
This book goes deep into detail on why we tend to have cravings for unhealthy foods, and how a healthy diet that is rich in micronutrients can reset our hunger desires, in order to crave for healthy food.
“Eat to Live” comes with a 6-week plan, based around nutrient-dense foods, which can help you lose a lot of weight as long as you stick to it.
Overall, this is an excellent book and will truly make you think about our cravings for the wrong foods, and how we can change that, in order to live a healthier and leaner life.
I really hope you enjoyed this list! I tried giving you a lot of diverse book recommendations, based around the topic of dieting. I didn’t want to include books only on nutrition, but also about the mindset about going into a diet, in order to be successful.
